Mah Jongg v3.3 is provided with an install program that will install the
program and associated utilities onto your hard disk or floppy disks. If
you are installing onto floppy disks you will need one formatted disk
for Mah Jongg itself and a second formatted disk if you also want to
install the Tile Maker utility.
To install Mah Jongg, just put the distribution diskette into your drive,
attach to that drive (i.e., type "a:" and hit the enter key, if you are
using the a: drive) and then type "install xx", where xx is the drive and
directory where you want Mah Jongg installed. For example, to install
onto your B: drive, type "install b:"; to install into the \games
directory on your C: drive, type "install c:\games".
If you want to install manually, please read the following:
In order to fit everything on one diskette, the Tile Maker utility along
with the set of blank tiles (BLANK.TIL), the default Mah Jongg tiles
(MAHJONGG.TIL), and the blank tile template (TEMP.TIL) as described in the
Mah Jongg docs have been stored in a compressed format.
To uncompress them you will need about 150k bytes of free disk space.
Copy the file "TILES.COM" to the diskette or hard disk directory where
you want to store the utilities. Then, run the file by typing "tiles"
at the command line. "TILES.COM" is a self-extracting archive and it
will extract the files from itself automatically once you give the
command.
When this process is complete, you will no longer need the file tiles.com
so it can be deleted.
